Offstreet Permits

Audience:

  • Users who need to create parking permits in Offstreet.

Prerequisites:

  • You have an Offstreet account.
  • You have permission to create Permits.

What is a Permit?

A Permit is an entity that defines and manages parking permissions for one or more vehicles.

The Permit includes the vehicle's plate(s), issuing state, parking zone, validity dates, and rules like vehicle limits or time restrictions to ensure only authorized vehicles are allowed to parking within specific areas during designated times.

You can create a Permit in 3 different ways:

  1. Create a single Permit.
  2. Create multiple Permits.
  3. Upload Permits from a spreadsheet using a template, or a blank sheet.

Creating Permits

Bulk Upload Permits with a Template

Users simply need to fill in relevant data for each permit, upload their file back into the platform and Offstreet handles the rest.

Learn how to Bulk Upload with a Template here.

Bulk Upload Permits from a Blank Spreadsheet

Users can create a blank sheet with their own custom columns and headers. After completing the necessary fields, they can map the data to the corresponding fields in Offstreet during the upload process.

File Requirements:

  • File types: .csv, .xlsx, or .xls

  • Maximum Size: 25MB

  • Headers: Include a header row matching Offstreet properties. Order doesn't matter; you'll map columns after the upload.

Formatting Guidelines:

  • License Plates: The plate number must be between 3-10 characters, with no special characters or spaces.

  • State/Province: Use two-letter codes (e.g., CA) or full names.

  • Date Formats:  yyyy-MM-dd, yyyy/MM/dd, MM/dd/yyyy, MMMM d, yyyy

  • Time Formats: HH:mm:ss

  • 12 Hour Time: hh:mm for AM/PM

  • UTC format: ISO 8601: Use T & Z for UTC

Additional Information

  • Additional Information fields allow you to capture extra data that may be relevant for managing permits.

  • Users can add custom fields to collect information that isn't covered by the standard permit form. Find out how to configure them below.

Applying Settings to Permits

When managing parking permits in Offstreet, administrators have the ability to apply specific settings to ensure that permits are issued in accordance with the rules and limitations set by your organization.

These settings help maintain control over the number of permits issued, and the vehicles associated with each permit.
